The natural-gas market (MGAS) is managed by an information system, to which Market
Participants log on through the Internet.
The access to the information system of the gas market is carried out through security procedures characterized by digital identification tools,
smart card, designed to ensure the authentication of electronic signatures and, therefore, the conclusion of the gas contracts.
The digital certificate for access to the market can be issued by certified certification company Agid and must comply with the provisions of the
Resolution DigitPA - Digit PA - No. 45 of 21 May 2009 as subsequently amended and integrated (DTcommissario and 69-2010).
Access to the gas market takes place under security procedures based on digital
identification systems (smart cards), which authenticate the electronic signature
and the conclusion of gas purchase and sale contracts. The digital certificates
for access to the market may be issued by Agid-certified certification companies.
The market is operated from GME’s trading room, which is equipped with all the hardware
and software components permitting to collect and process transactions under maximum
security conditions. The trading room personnel ensures the continuous operation
of the systems and provides support to Market Participants.
