On the border between Italy and Slovenia, between Italy and France and between Italy and Austria, in accordance with ARERA resolution no. 45/2015/R/EEL, daily interconnection capacities are assigned through the "market coupling" mechanism, also active on the border between Italy and Greece, in accordance with ARERA resolution no. 514/2020/R/EEL.
This mechanism simultaneously performs implicit allocation of the daily physical transmission rights and "clearing" of the energy purchase and sale offers.
