The PCE is managed through an information system, which is accessed through the
Internet. Upon accessing the PCE, Users/Participants are identified through the
user IDs and passwords assigned by GME. Data are exchanged between Participants,
GME and Terna (including requests for registration, notifications of results and
schedules defined by GME on the PCE) by exchanging XML files through the Internet
or by filling in the appropriate forms available on GME’s website (web forms).
The registrations take place in the trading room, which is equipped with hardware
and software components which collect and process the data on transactions and schedules
registered onto the PCE. The members of the personnel in charge of the trading room
ensure continuous system operation under maximum security conditions and provide
support to Participants.
Transactions can be registered at any time, provided that the transactions relating
to the day D can be registered from the day D-60 up to 10 a.m. of the day D-1. Requests
for registering schedules may be sent every day within 11.30 a.m. preceding the
day of flow to which the schedules refer.
