Decision ARG/elt 60/09 (hereafter referred to as the “Decision”) has clarified and simplified the provisions of Decision ARG/elt 115/08 (TIMM) concerning the reporting of key data about sales and purchases of forward contracts on electricity traded in the electricity market. The Decision has provided, among others, that the reporting obligation shall only fall on Market Participants exceeding a given size threshold (major Market Participants). Additional simplifications have been introduced into GME’s data collection procedure via the External Data Platform (PDE). Moreover, the same Decision has established the obligation to report data about the shares of available capacity to GME.

Jointly with Gestore del Mercato Elettrico S.p.A. (GME), the “Direzione Mercati” (Department of Markets) of “Autorità per l’energia elettrica e il gas” (AEEG – the Italian electricity & gas regulator) will hold a seminar, open to all interested parties, to provide clarifications and insights on the above reporting obligations, as per art. 8, paras. 4 and 6 of TIMM (Decision ARG/ELT 115/08).
